On April 2, a meeting was held at the “High Voltage Electric Networks” CJSC with the participation of the company's management, representatives from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, EPSO CJSC, and the Iranian “Tavanir” and “Sunir” companies. The meeting focused on the progress and priorities of the “Construction of Iran-Armenia 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line and Noravan Substation” project, as well as issues related to the temporary energizing them under 220 kV voltage after construction of 400 kV “Julfa” and “Heris” overhead lines from “Noravan” substation to the Armenian-Iranian border.
Welcoming the participants, General Director of “High Voltage Electric Networks” Davit Mirzoyan emphasized the national importance of the project in strengthening energy security, improving the reliability of power supply to consumers, and fostering regionally beneficial cooperation in the energy sector.
As a result of the discussion, the parties agreed to establish a working group composed of representatives from HVEN CJSC, “Sunir,” and “Tavanir,” which will be held biweekly via video conference to address existing issues and obstacles hindering project progress. It was also agreed that the temporary energizing 400 kV “Julfa” and “Heris” overhead lines at 220 kV will be considered depending on project performance and the supply timelines of autotransformers.
Representatives of “Tavanir” and “Sunir” expressed their willingness to meet again in order to ensure timely and effective implementation of the agreements reached.
