Within the framework of "Iran-Armenia 400kV Third Power Transmission Line and Relevant Substation" project the necessary goods and equipment were imported from Iran to Armenia and large-scale construction works were resumed from the end of May.
Particularly, 27 Iranian trucks have recently imported and stored HSD-10 metal support structures. The construction of transmission line is divided into six sections and includes Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions. 693 land plots have already been acquired from 745 foreseen within the framework of the project, 424 supports have been imported to the Republic, 72 of which have already been installed, 706 support spotting works have been done.
Fully was acquired the 11 8870 sq.m. territory of "Noravan" substation which included in the project, and was constructed 620 sq.m. fence and dug the foundation of control building.
Iranian "Sanir" company is the main contractor of the Armenia high-voltage third transmission line construction. The project is financed by the Export Development Bank of Iran and "Sanir FZE" financial organization. The project cost is 107.9 million Euro.
Construction of "Iran-Armenia 400 kV Third Power Transmission Line" and "Noravan" substation will enable to increase the power transmission capacity between the energy systems of two countries from 350 MW up to 1000 MW and increase the reliability of the connection between the southern and central parts of Armenia energy system, the reliability of the parallel operation of two countries’ power systems and the energy security level of Armenia.
