The “Caucasus Transmission Network” (Armenia-Georgia power transmission line / substations)" project being implemented by support of German Development bank (KfW), the European Investment Bank and the European Commission, the Neighbourhood Investment Facility ("NIF"), will enter the stage of practical implementation in 2017. Project-related questions and future plans were discussed on January 16 by the managers and company executives of "High Voltage Electric Networks" CJSC, German Development Bank /KfW/ and Project Consultant Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG/.
During the meeting, General Director of "High Voltage Electric Networks" CJSC Artur Baghdasaryan noted that it’s imperative to consolidate efforts with the view of implementing the project in the framework of time schedule, whereas the construction of "Armenia - Georgia 400 kV overhead transmission lines and substations" are of strategic importance for energy system of Armenia.It will increase the energy security and integration capabilities in the region, reliability of Energy System of Armenia which is one of the most important issues for our country.
