Assignment of contract for rehabilitation of “Agarak-2”and “Shinuhayr” substations

With the view to carry out the reconstruction works of “Agarak-2” and “Shinuhayr” substations within the framework of the “Reconstruction of the electricity transmission network" project an agreement was signed between High Voltage Electric Networks CJSC and China Joint Venture Liaoning-Efacec Electrical Equipment Co. LTD and Northeast China International Electric Power Corporation On 6th of May 2016. The Contract was signed by the General Director of "High Voltage Electric Networks" Aram Ananyan and the president of Liaoning-Efacec Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd Yu Vang. The general Contractor of China JV was selected in the result of the International tender held in HVEN CJSC. “Agarak-2” and “Shinuhayr” substations are of strategic importance for the Energy system of Armenia and the implementation of reconstruction works is financed by Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the extent of 23,4 mln dollars. In the result of that project “Agarak-2” substation is foreseen to be constructed instead of “Agarak” switching point, 385 km far from Yerevan, equipped with up-to-date technologies and equipments. By reconstruction of 220/110/35/6 KV “Shinuhayr” substation is also foreseen to equip the commissioned substation with up-to-date technologies and equipments. The installed capacity of the substation is 271 MVA. The substation is located 235 km far from Yerevan. The Construction works of two substations are planned to be completed by general Contractor in 2018. General Director of HVEN CJSC Aram Ananyan has congratulated Chinese partners and mentioned that “Reconstruction of the electricity transmission network” project is of strategic importance for the Energy system of Armenia, therefore it should be implemented on time and with high quality. According to “High Voltage Electric Networks” CJSC General Director Aram Ananyan in the result of project implementation will be improved the efficiency of Energy system of Armenia, will be increased the efficiency and reliability of power supply of consumers of the internal transmission network and in addition it will provide with reliable, flexible and mutually beneficial cross-border exchange capabilities between the Energy systems of Armenia and Iran.
